| At first blush, they seem an odd couple – President Bush and Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, two leaders cultures apart and half a world away.
Maybe it's their fondness for baseball that binds. Or maybe their personalities just click. Whatever it is, Mr. Bush, who touches down in Japan Tuesday at the start of a weeklong, four-country tour of Asia, counts Mr. Koizumi among his closest worldly friends – so much so that the prime minister was a fixture in the president's re-election stump speeches.
