Freight fright looms as Logan loads unscreened cargo    view story
Thursday, August 25, 2005

Logan International Airport may be getting $14.5 million in fortress-like security barriers, but a potentially deadly backdoor remains open that could put a bomb in a cargo bin below passengers' feet. Despite a 2003 pilot program at Logan showing that cargo could be efficiently screened, nearly all shipments funneled into the bellies of passenger planes at the airport continues to go uninspected. |
