Researchers seek ways to aid state's shrimpers     view story

Clemson University researchers are studying ways to rejuvenate the state's ailing shrimping industry. While the U.S. consumption of shrimp has risen steadily during the past decade, the price per pound has dropped. This is because of the influx of lower-priced imports from China, Thailand, Brazil and other countries, which account for nearly 90 percent of the shrimp sold in America. |
