As Kerry stakes out lead in state, both campaigns scale back efforts     view story

Oregon is still a swing state in the presidential race, but it no longer appears to be a toss-up. Most polls show that Democrat Sen. John Kerry has carved a clear lead in Oregon, and both campaigns reportedly have reduced television advertising in the state. And there is a good possibility that neither Kerry nor President Bush will be back in the state before the Nov. 2 election. |
